Yakima LongHaul 4 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Thor Challenger Motorhome- Video
How's it going This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Yakima LongHaul on the back of our 2023 Thor Challenger. Now the LongHaul is a hanging bike carrier. So this is gonna have three points of contact and basically it's gonna get you two points here, one back here on the rear, between the frame and the wheel. And that is gonna be a carrier for basically your regular bikes. If you have something that's nicer, like a carbon fiber bike or an unconventional frame, this isn't necessarily the best option. Now if you do have a kid's bike or step-through bike, you can use a frame adapter to allow you to make these two contact points, but it's an additional accessory you would have to add. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima LongHaul hanging style bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2020 Thor Miramar motorhome. Now the LongHaul is going to be a motor home-approved bike rack and that's important to know because there is gonna be extra shock and vibration at the back of your motor home compared to a typical passenger vehicle. And the bike rack does need to be built to a certain spec to withstand that, and the LongHaul is. It's gonna lack a few features that you might be used to in other hitch-mounted racks, like a tilting feature because of that, but you really don't need it on your motor home. And the result is something that's a lot more sturdy because down there at what would be the pivot point, it's welded and bolted in. more

Hi, everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima LongHaul Hitch-Mounted Bike Rack and seeing how it fits on our 2018 Thor Miramar motorhome. Now, the LongHaul is a hanging-style bike rack, which means the bike hangs by the frame down below these arms/ And this is going to be a rack designed for use with motorhomes, that's really important, because a lot of bike racks aren't approved for motorhome use. You're gonna have a lot of extra shock and vibration back here compared to your typical passenger vehicle, and the bike rack needs to be built to withstand that, and the LongHaul is. This can support up to 37 1/2 pounds per bike and carry up to four bikes, so if you're looking for a way to get you and your family's bikes to your destination, this can be a great way to do it, because it's a well-built rack with a lot of capability. Now, being a hanging rack, there are some limitations, the first being alternative frame bikes. more

So, this is an awesome bike rack for you if you have your extra heavy bikes, you have your extra wide fat tires. Really, anything you could ask of, this has the top when it comes to the specs, especially for something rated for the back of an RV or a motorhome. With a weight capacity of 80 pounds per bike, a wheel base of 60 inches, as well as that RV capability, there's a lot to this bike rack. Today we have a 2019 Ford Challenger and we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Range 4-Bike Rack.Now this is a hanging style rack that mounts to your two inch by two inch hitch receiver and it's built for RV's. It's just constructed out of a more durable steel. It's going to be reinforced, have a lot stronger hardware holding it together. It's just going to be a lot better and be able to be more durable for those longer road trips that you might take for your RV.Now, as far as how the bike goes, it's going to be held at three different points. Yakima RoadTrip 4 Bike Rack Review - 2015 Thor Miramar Motorhome- Video
Dustin: Hey, internet. It's Dustin here with etrailer.com, and today we're going to be showing you the Yakima RoadTrip on our 2015 Thor Miramar. Now this is an RV-approved bike rack, and the reason you would want that on your Miramar is because the axle sits far enough away from the rear on most RVs, including the Miramar, that you're going to get some sway and wobble back here that you wouldn't on a regular vehicle, and that can transfer to the rack. So on RV-approved bike racks, like the RoadTrip, there are less moving parts, it's more solid, and that's going to make a safer ride for your bikes.Like most hanging-style bike racks, it's going to hold our bikes in place by the top tube. It also features an anti-sway cradle, which is going to prevent any bike movement side to side, preventing bike-to-bike contact and bike-to-RV contact. Your bikes are secured down with the Yakima ZipStrip. more

Hey everybody, today we'll be taking a look at the Yakima LongHaul on our 2015 Thor Miramar.Now, the LongHaul is an RV approved bike rack. That's something you're going to want to look for when adding a bike rack to the rear of your RV. And that's typically because the rear of the RV sits so far away from the axle that there's a significant amount of sway back here. And so RV approved bike racks have less moving components and there's less that can go wrong.Like most hanging style bike racks, it holds our bikes in place by the top tubes, with an anti-sway cradle here on the side. Yakima actually uses what they call zip strips to go in and secure the bike. There's just these levels on the side. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Thor Four Winds Motorhome we're going to be test fitting Yakima RoadTrip 4-Bike Rack, part number Y02477.This heavy duty bike rack is going to be RB rated and allow you to carry four bikes on the back of your motorhome. You quickly secure your bike and attach it to the three mounting points. This'll hold it not only on top with these two points, but prevents sway with the third point here. The bike quickly secures with the zip strip straps. They quickly come out when you push that in, and you just push them down to lock them in place. On top, it's go the super cush 00:00:37 TPE material. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Thor Four Winds motor home, we're going to be test fitting Yakima's LongHaul 4-bike rack, part number Y02476. This bike rack's going to allow you to carry four bikes on the back of your motor home because it's one of the few strong RV-rated bike racks. Each bike is held by three contact points on the frame, two on top and one on the side to stabilize it. You can quickly secure your bike using the ZipStrips. To release them, press in on the levers here and pull outward. The padding where your bike will rest is a SuperCush TPE material that's going to reduce vibration and dampen it as you go down the road. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Thor Windsport we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima Road Trip 4 Bike Rack, part number Y02477. So whether you're going to the camp grounds or going across the country our Yakima Road Trip is going to be a great solution to carry your bikes with you. Our bikes are going to be secured at three points, two across the top of the frame here and then one going up the vertical post. That's going to act as an anti-sway, preventing too much movement and bike-to-bike contact. To take the bike off we're going to have a button each side of our ratcheting zip strips. We just push in and pull the strip out.Once we have all our strips removed we can go ahead and pull our bike off to take a closer look at some of the features. more

Whether you're heading to the campground or going across the country, this is going to be a great way to bring your bikes with you. Our bike is going to be secured to our bike rack at three different points, two on the top post going across, and then one on the vertical post acting as an anti-sway, minimizing the sway and preventing bike-to-bike contact.Let's go ahead and remove the bike and take a closer look at some of the features. We simply come to the tabs on each one of our clips, remove the ZipStrips. Once all three removed, we can pull out bike off. We can set this aside for now and replace our ZipStrips so we don't have to worry about them getting lost or damaged. more
